Job Role / Responsibilities: You will be responsible to: approve and check local and foreign payments as per the approved authority matrix, ensuring accurate recording, tax compliance and adherence to AKU policies supervise staff who process payments, ensuring all payments are made on time and institutional commitments are fulfilled liaise with various departments on day-to-day matters, including payments, contracts and related activities prepare and review monthly schedules and reports for assets, liabilities and projects as assigned, and follow up with relevant stakeholders for recovery or adjustments of funds/status take an active part in monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger closing activities, including internal and external audits prepare monthly schedules, reports and responses to budget variance reports perform quarterly and annual closing activities and prepare variance analysis undertake annual audit tasks and activities as assigned prepare annual withholding tax reconciliation. Eligibility Criteria / Requirements: You should have: ICMA finalist, ACCA finalist, BCom, BBA in Finance or equivalent qualification with relevant work experience minimum two years’ experience in finance good knowledge of accounting principles strong analytical skills good interpersonal and communication skills proficiency in computer applications, especially MS Office Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
Responsibilities
The Associate will approve and check payments, supervise staff processing payments, and liaise with various departments on financial matters. They will also prepare reports, participate in general ledger closing activities, and undertake audit tasks.
