EMPLOYMENT ASSOCIATE GENERAL COUNSEL

Do you have experience in Employment Law and want to work for a company that positively impacts the well-being of the individuals it serves? In the Employment Associate General Counsel role, you will contribute to the company’s commitment to serve others by participating in the definition and development of employee relations policies/procedures/programs and provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters regarding employee relations.

  • Provide day-to-day advice and support to business units concerning all aspects of the employment relationship
  • Coordinate and drive completion of employment-related projects
  • Provide analysis of proposed and new employment legislation
  • Represent the company before federal and state agencies, including preparing position statements on employee relations inquiries, appearing at hearings on behalf of the company, and participating in alternative dispute resolution
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s business/culture to identify trends and anticipate issues to provide practical, business-oriented solutions and long-term strategies
  • Provide daily counsel on a diverse variety of labor and employment issues
  • Conduct regular training of management on a variety of legal topics
  • Minimize legal exposure through a proactive review of existing routines and recommendations of new or revised ones
  • Participate in the definition and development of employee relations policies, procedures, and programs; provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters regarding employee relations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor required
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of combined law firm/in-house experience required
  • Admitted to at least one state bar with membership in good standing, including the Massachusetts Bar
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with business partners in a collaborative environment to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to address diverse legal issues with internal customers daily and to analyze and effectively execute on complex investigations
  • Professional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and advocacy skills
  • Must be able to discreetly handle confidential information and data
  • A practical, business-based approach to problem-solving
