Are you interested in joining a dynamic team dedicated to advancing healthcare access and equality while holding harmful industries accountable for their impact on health? The Healthcare Rights and Access (HRA) Section is seeking experienced and motivated Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPAs) to join our efforts in these critical areas.
The Healthcare Rights and Access Section leads affirmative healthcare-related matters involving healthcare system transactions, reproductive justice, healthcare privacy, tobacco enforcement, consumer protection, and competition matters. The Section represents the Attorney General in his independent capacity and coordinates this work with others in the Department of Justice, including sections in the Public Rights and Civil Law Divisions. HRA has comprehensive authority to work on any matters, including overseeing all non-profit healthcare facility transactions, investigations, litigation, and legislation, that will increase and protect the accessibility, affordability, and quality of healthcare in the State of California.
Under the guidance of the Senior Assistant Attorney General, the successful candidate for this position will undertake various complex and analytical tasks supporting the management of the Section. Responsibilities include collecting and reviewing legal, legislative and financial reports; project planning, development and monitoring. The candidate will also analyze and assist with the section’s cases and investigations, participate in rulemaking, and when appropriate, legislative efforts. The ideal candidate must be proficient in data and program management tools, exhibit strong organizational skills, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
No prior experience in health law is required; what matters most is a genuine enthusiasm for enforcing the laws that protect the health of Californians.
