Description:
The California Competes (CalCompetes) Analyst will receive direction from the Staff Services Manager II (SSMII), Assistant Deputy Director of the CalCompetes program, and guidance from the Deputy Director of the CalCompetes program. The CalCompetes Analyst will work independently and with the CalCompetes team to promote and achieve the goals of the CalCompetes programs and GO-Biz.
The position involves reviewing CalCompetes applications and making recommendations based on the guidelines. Duties include understanding the structure and needs of business applicants, evaluating applications, gathering additional information, analyzing and verifying gathered information, and making recommendations on awarding tax credits or grants. Additionally, the role involves drafting agreements for selected businesses, providing technical assistance to applicants and awardees, identifying and resolving issues with businesses before application submission, and reviewing compliance worksheets submitted by recipients.
Furthermore, the position includes providing assistance for other grant programs administered by GO-Biz, data tracking and analysis for program improvement, and outreach and marketing efforts for the CalCompetes program. This involves designing marketing materials, participating in promotional efforts, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing public outreach and education on the program.
