Responsibilities

Research and analyze data in coordination with technical staff to support enforcement activities, including water right files, complaints, geographic information and aerial imagery to assist technical staff prioritize and plan field inspections. Support post-inspection follow up and compliance by gathering and analyzing data taken in the field and incorporating it into post-inspection reports. Coordinate with Regional Board staff, fisheries agencies, and Office of Enforcement to develop the administrative record for enforcement cases. Research and propose section performance measures and coordinate and track future updates to enforcement cases and convey technical information to the public at large. Routinely review and evaluate webpage content and structure to ensure webpages are user friendly and contain up-to-date information.
Conduct data analysis including QA/QC, database management, using and developing data visualization tools for enforcement. Serve as a liaison to coordinate long-term information technology planning efforts, and work to integrate the California Water Accounting, Tracking, and Reporting System (CalWATRS). It is a new and improved system launched by the State Water Resources Control Board to make reporting water rights easier and more efficient.
Develop, manage, and maintain enforcement program forms, databases and procedures. Make recommendations to the Unit Manager regarding new policies, procedures, alternatives, or tools that will aid the efficiency and effectiveness of the Unit’s work.
