ABOUT US
The University of Sunderland in London (UoSiL), based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days per week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.
In addition, we have moved to a modern campus building offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.
This is a brand-new academic leadership role at our dynamic London campus and a chance to make a real impact from day one. You’ll be at the heart of shaping our newly launched NMC-accredited pre- and post-registration Nursing programmes, supported by a brand-new simulation ward and a passionate academic and professional services team.
In this role, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving excellence across our nursing and public health programmes. You’ll lead curriculum innovation, ensure compliance with NMC standards, and champion the student experience and employability. This is a unique opportunity to influence the next generation of healthcare professionals while working in a collaborative, inclusive, and forward-thinking academic environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience teaching at higher education level and in nursing curriculum design, coupled with a strong understanding of professional and regulatory frameworks. In addition, the role requires experience in programme validation, review, or quality assurance processes involving professional bodies. You’ll have the ability to lead strategically, communicate effectively, and plan with precision. You’ll be passionate about supporting learners from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment, and helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in practice. NMC registration and a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area are essential for this position.
