We are recruiting for an Associate to join our Housing & Regeneration team in Birmingham or Bristol. The role is a permanent, full-time opportunity, offering flexible working in line with TLT World.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will have/be:

  • A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered) NQ-5 years PQE, with experience of general property transactions, including sales and purchases, as well as development. You will also have experience of acting for clients in the public sector.
  • First class communication skills with the ability and confidence to engage with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development, and an appetite for keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in your practice area and sector focus.
  • Able to understand your client’s business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client.
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic team player, able to support senior fee earners and contribute to our collaborative culture.
Responsibilities

You will be part of our specialist team, who deal with real estate acquisition, disposal and development work as well as major regeneration projects. We work with colleagues who advise across the full range of legal issues affecting the industry including property tax, environment, construction, property litigation, planning, procurement and subsidy control.

In the role of Associate, day to day you can expect to be involved with:

  • Supporting public sector clients (including Homes England, London Boroughs, local authorities, central government and NDBPs) on large-scale mixed-use regeneration and development projects
  • Advising Registered Providers on a range of regeneration and housing projects covering the disposal of land, procurement matters; co-ordination and delivery of regeneration schemes
  • Land assembly including option agreements and promotion agreements
  • General support for the Housing and Regeneration Team as it develops its wider public sector real estate practice
  • Dealing with a variety of real estate transactions including advice on existing overage arrangements; infrastructure agreements; licences to occupy and the grant of various forms of leases
  • Drafting and advising on conditional sale agreements and overage provisions
  • Maintaining and improving relations with existing clients and spot opportunities for business development and enhancement of the current services we offer
