At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We’re committed to fostering an environment for every teammate that’s welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunity for professional growth. Find your future with us.
Boeing Defense is currently hiring an Associate Industrial Engineer (Level 2) to become part of the F/A-18 Super Hornet Service Life Modification (SLM) Production Engineering Team in San Antonio, TX.
The F/A-18 Super Hornet Service Life Modification (SLM) Program delivers critical new capabilities and additional service life to the US Navy. It includes extending the Super Hornet’s service life to 10,000 hours, upgrading to the Block III cockpit, and an upgrade to core mission systems. These upgrades give the warfighter critical capabilities and keep the F/A-18 in active service for decades to come.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a high pressure, fast paced environment. In this role you will have the opportunity to apply Industrial Engineering concepts to develop operating plans and recovery plans, conduct capacity and constraint-based analysis, develop and refine precedence networks, and conduct overall process effectiveness studies. You will also have opportunities to develop, implement, and improve processes focused on lowering costs and improving schedule performance and quality. Candidates must be able to operate within a multi-functional team, coordinating with various departments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 2+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, in an assembly or fabrication environment).
  • 2+ years or experience with precedence development, generating operating/recovery plans, and overall process improvement / effectiveness (e.g. Time Studies, Work Sampling).
  • 2+ years supporting the preparation of operations plans, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
  • Follows compliance requirements with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Aircraft / Aerospace industry experience. Familiarity with Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Planning, engineering drawings and specifications, and lean concepts (certifications preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience with any of the following programming languages: VBA, Python, SQL (Oracle Preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience with any of the following platforms: Tableau, Toad.
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (Goldesp Preferred).
