The Associate Infection Preventionist is the entry-level position for Infection Prevention. A candidate for this position must have a sufficient healthcare background but requires only basic infection prevention/epidemiology knowledge, as the majority of training will occur on the job. All Infection Preventionists (IPs) are accountable for implementation of and compliance with policies, practices, and processes of the infection prevention program at the facility, region, division and system level. In collaboration with the IP leadership, IP medical director, and IP peers, and IPs will follow all current local, state and federal guidelines, and standards, and regulations. Infection Preventionists provide infection prevention consultative services focused on providing the highest quality care at the lowest cost to patient and organization. Required qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field. Certified in Infection Control (CIC) within 2 years of hire. Preferred qualification: Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology or related health science field. Associate – Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC) upon hire. 2 years of Healthcare and/or Epidemiology or Infection Prevention related experience. Why Join Providence?
