Description

This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. We also offer relocation support.
The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Finance Directorate (FI), Capital Markets Department (CAP), Financial Markets Documentation Division (FIMA), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an (Associate) ISDA negotiator*.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

While the team supports a wide range of EIB’s funding and treasury activities (as outlined above), this recruitment aims at finding a new team member who will support the treasury activities. Depending on your seniority, your accountabilities listed below can be performed in collaboration with the Head of Division and/or more senior colleagues.

  • Execute with a large degree of autonomy GMRAs, ISDAs and CSAs.
  • Identify opportunities for strategy and policy optimisation within your treasury documentation specialisation and actively develop new documentation, policies and methods.
  • Investigate and analyse with a large degree of autonomy treasury documentation trends and developments.
  • Analyse enquiries, ad hoc situations, structures and financial instruments with a special focus on own treasury documentation specialisation.
  • Advise internal colleagues on operational treasury matters, with a special focus on own treasury documentation specialisation.
  • Deliver on treasury documentation projects that go beyond the strict boundaries of own specific specialisation.
  • Stay abreast of best practice regarding treasury documentation matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Law, Finance, Economics or related field.
  • Additional relevant professional qualification would be an advantage (for example: CFA, bar admission, postgraduate studies in a relevant field such as derivatives).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, of which at least 2 years in the field of derivatives documentation in a law firm or, preferably, as ISDA negotiator in a commercial bank.
  • Experience with GMRAs would be an advantage.
  • Experience with regulatory matters relevant for EIB’s treasury activities would be an advantage.
  • Proficient knowledge of how financial markets function is required.
  • Knowledge of financial law and documentation (in relation to treasury) is required.
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s objectives, policies and procedures in relevant field of activities.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (**), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
Responsibilities

You will deliver financial markets documentation and related processes required by the Bank in the capital markets and treasury domains, in line with overall EIB strategy and policies, with the aim to minimise operational risk, optimise operational execution of transactions, and improve the Bank’s position from a financial and reputational perspective, thus ensuring that FI contributes to the achievement of the EIB’s objectives.
