LUC is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and we actively encourage applications from under-represented groups. We value the differences, needs and contributions a diverse workforce represents, and we strive to embed equality, diversity and inclusion in all our people related activities.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Landscape Architect to expand our award-winning team of Landscape Designers, based in our London office.
Our diverse team has a friendly and informal working atmosphere, but we are passionate about the quality of our work, providing the best solutions for our clients and the environment, and making excellent ‘people places’.
We have an expanding portfolio of high-profile housing and development led projects across London and the south-east. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of sought-after projects with both prestigious clients and architects.

As an Associate, you will be responsible for leading LUC project teams, to design and deliver projects across all work stages. Within this role, you will:

  • Have the opportunity to work with LUC’s broad range of complementary disciplines.
  • Deliver landscape design proposals for primarily housing and development led projects. This will include supporting strategic masterplanning work through to technical delivery.
  • Support tendering activities and preparing fee proposals to support the housing work stream.
  • Coordinate project design outputs from across the LUC team.
  • Produce project outputs where needed, this could include preparing design reports or more complex design drawings.
  • Engage with external consultants to coordinate design outputs, attending client and project meetings where needed.
  • Manage and support learning outcomes for more junior colleagues.
  • Support the team Director’s in marketing and business development activities. This could include preparing materials and attending marketing events.

The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.
The role is based in LUC’s offices in London. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.
A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
Salary: £46,000 - £56,000 Plus London Allowance FTE (Depending on experience)
This is a great time to be joining LUC. Since its creation nearly 60 years ago, LUC has been driven by the belief that planning has a critical role to play in shaping the world around us for the better. This work has never been more critical or urgent.
