Job Details:
Mercer University School of Law is searching for an Associate Law Librarian for Administration & Public Services.
Responsibilities:
This position provides instruction for Introduction to Legal Research/Advanced Legal Research and other research-specific courses. Aids in the development of library instructional programming. Manages public services, including circulation, reference, and collection maintenance. Aids in the development of the law school’s scholarly impact and output. In the absence of the Law Library Director, take responsibility for the management of the law library.
Qualifications:
Must hold a JD from an ABA accredited law school and an MLS/MSIS from an ALA accredited library or information science program. Additionally candidates must have three years of law school library, supervisory and teaching experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Candidates should possess a thorough knowledge of the Anglo-American legal system.
  • Highly skilled in using and teaching all of the various legal research resources (such as LEXIS, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Fastcase, and ProQuest) for reference, instruction, and user needs.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the principles of librarianship and academic library resources.
  • In-depth knowledge of a productivity suite, course management system/learning management system, and an integrated library system. Experience with Office 365, Canvas, Springhare, and ExLibris Alma preferred.
