QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited common law school (Canadian degree preferred).
  • Admission to the Alberta bar or ability to be qualified.
  • Strong research skills with proficiency in using LexisNexis or similar legal research tools.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting of various documents.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to reach favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities to assess complex legal issues effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in various areas of law, including but not limited to civil, criminal, family, or corporate law.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as LexisNexis to support case strategies and client needs.
  • Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
  • Prepare for court appearances by organizing case files, gathering evidence, and developing arguments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and changes in legislation that may affect clients’ cases.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to ensure comprehensive representation for clients.
