We are looking for a highly skilled, driven and experienced lawyer to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team!

The successful candidate has significant experience in personal injury litigation (at least 1-3 years). They take initiative, are organized, hard-working, entrepreneurial minded and are encouraged and supported in building their own practice. The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Oversees all aspects of tort/accident benefit and slip and fall claims
  • Handle files of varying complexities from intake to resolution
  • Work cooperatively within a team structure
  • Identify files ready for settlement and prepare for settlement conferences
  • Reviews, analyzes, and assesses all incoming medical and other productions/correspondence
  • Interviewing clients and witnesses
  • Effectively track limitation periods and deadlines
  • Communicating with team members and clients to ensure files are up to date
  • Responsible for ongoing review and management of files, assigning tasks, with assistance from paralegals and legal assistants
  • Preparing clients for and attending examinations for discovery, motions, mediation, pretrials, etc.
  • Drafting settlement proposals
  • Help TSF Law achieve strategic goals on behalf of our clients
  • Building and maintaining positive and professional working relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations/requirements and timelines/deadlines as required by the Law Society of Ontario and our clients
  • Support and contribute to all TSF Law initiatives to create a positive work culture
  • Share knowledge, provide/receive on-going coaching and support to/from your colleagues and administrative team
  • Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate has and can demonstrate the following experience, skills and characteristics:

  • A lawyer with 1-3 years practice within personal injury (preferably defence)
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to be a pragmatic problem solver
  • Exudes a positive attitude
  • Teachable and able to comply with all firm policies and procedures
  • An entrepreneurial spirit/mindset
  • Very strong knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedures
  • Experienced in handling files from beginning to end
  • Experience with resolving claims
  • Work with minimal instruction or supervision
  • Ability to work within tight timelines to meet deadlines, reassessing priorities as needed
  • Self-starter with excellent critical thinking skills
  • Proactive and takes initiative in anticipation of the next steps on a file
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Willing to learn new material and technology
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to be resourceful

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
