Description

Parlee McLaws LLP is seeking a Litigation Associate to join a team which offers sophisticated work and the opportunity to assist the busy and diverse practices of senior lawyers.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with 4+ years working of litigation experience, along with a proven desire to work alongside clients to achieve their desired outcomes.
This role is located at our downtown Edmonton office.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid law degree from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution or recognition of accredited degree from a foreign post-secondary institution
  • A member in good standing with current, active membership with the Alberta Law Society
  • Litigation practice experience (4+ years)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage conflicting priorities, and work collaboratively
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English
  • Desire to build strong client relationships
  • Responsive, resourceful, practical, and a diplomatic problem solver
  • Readily adapts to, and works effectively with changing priorities in a high-volume work environment
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional and ethical conduct regarding confidential information and in accordance with legal requirements
  • Effectively direct and work with legal assistants and/or paralegals
  • Meet or exceed firm goals and client expectations
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
