The School of Chemistry at the University of St Andrews aims to appoint an Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Materials (Inorganic and Physical) Chemistry from 1 August 2025.
St Andrews Chemistry is a dynamic teaching and research environment with around 40 Academic staff, about 140 PhD students and 60 PDRAs. Our undergraduate courses are delivered across five years up to MChem level, with the option to specialise in Medicinal or Materials Chemstry at both BSc and MChem levels. In addition, the School runs postgraduate taught degrees (MSc Chemical Sciences and MSc Catalysis).
We welcome applications from outstanding candidates who have a passion for teaching and who have proven expertise in delivering undergraduate education imaginatively. This position will focus on materials/solid state inorganic and physical chemistry and the successful applicant will be expected to teach across the breadth of our undergraduate and taught postgraduate curriculum in areas appropriate to their expertise.
A PhD in an appropriate area of chemistry is essential, and you will already have experience of teaching at university level.
