Job Title: Associate Lecturer in Sport with UPS background
Location: Highbury, Sixth Form, North Harbour, Arundel Campuses
Salary: Pro rata, up to £29,074.42 - £42,579.53 Full Time Equivalent per annum
Job Type: Sessional/Casual
Hours of work: up to 35 hours per week (inclusive of teaching and prep time), 52 weeks per full year, hours will be reviewed annually

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Sport and UPS Department is a thriving department within the City of Portsmouth College. We offer a range of courses across a wide spectrum of the Sport and Uniformed Protective Services industry. You will monitor student progress, evaluate teaching methods and implement quality improvement strategies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, student outcomes and success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To teach on a range of programmes, providing high-quality learning opportunities that meet the needs of individual students/apprentices and groups in line with the College’s strategic priorities and objectives.
  • To provide flexible assessment opportunities and closely plan, monitor, track and record student/apprentice retention, achievement, and success.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, relevant curriculum and programmes. Curriculum Development responsibilities include:
  • Actively contributing to the development of new programmes within the curriculum area
  • Producing annual schemes of work and/or training plans for all subjects/programmes to be taught

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Sport
  • Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards
  • Ability to meet targets within set timescales
  • Ability to work well in a team, but also to work independently
