About the role: The Associate Lecturer assists Senior Lecturers and Lecturers in the preparation and, under supervision, the delivery and assessment of theoretical and practical aspects of subjects as allocated. Associate Lecturers must work with Senior Lecturers and Lecturers to ensure students are provided with the best opportunity to attain learning outcomes/competencies, satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks and progress with their studies. They must also participate in moderation activities and are required to be available to provide student support outside of timetabled class hours. Key Accountabilities: Include but are not limited to the following. Manage thriving in person and online classes, as well as monitor and ensure participation of students. Manage their own and the student’s time and attention to learning effectively Validate and review teaching materials and make any recommendations necessary as per organisational policy and procedures Make proper use of all current subject / unit outlines, teaching material and student learning materials Utilise learning technology effectively and embed in subject or unit delivery Engage in student centered learning and teaching practices including, but not limited to, competency based learning and assessment, flipped learning, maintaining an active and positive education experience Please note, if you are successful in securing this role, you will be required to complete and submit the below: Police vetting check Certified copy of your highest academic qualifications This is a casual, part time position based at the Media Design School in Auckland and is an on-site position.
