Quilling, Selander, Lownds, Winslett & Moser P.C. seeks a litigation attorney with 1 to 5 years of experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer interested in building and developing strong litigation skills including independent file management, motion practice, courtroom opportunities, depositions, and trial preparation. A writing sample and references are also appreciated.    Role and Responsibilities   * Represent clients in federal court and some state court litigation proceedings, including conducting written discovery and taking depositions, drafting and arguing discovery motions and dispositive motions, participating in settlement conferences and mediations and engaging in settlement negotiations. * Review and evaluate cases for liability issues, settlement potential and settlement valuation and likelihood of success on a dispositive motion or trial. * Draft pleadings, discovery, motions and settlement agreements and appear in court proceedings in courts across the country (occasional travel required). * Communicate with counsel for co-defendants and Plaintiff’s counsel on discovery, settlement and other matters and communicate with client and internally with attorneys and paralegals to ensure efficient and effective handling of cases. * Become familiar with the client’s business processes to provide advice on avoiding litigation and limiting liability. Preferred Experience & Skills      The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and eager to take ownership of a caseload but also have a team-oriented approach to work and exhibit good interpersonal communication skills.  Ideally, the candidate will have at least one year of experience in litigation, preferably on the defense side and possess an eagerness to vigorously defend corporate clients in high-stakes federal court settings.   Qualifications and Education Requirements * Licensed in Indiana – other state licenses are a plus.  * J.D. from accredited law school Preferred Skills  * Excellent work ethic * Strong interpersonal skills. * Must be a self-starter and be able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication.
