About the job: The Red Hat Ansible team is looking for an Associate Manager, Software Engineering to join us to help grow and guide a team of engineers. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with peers often in multiple geographies to help to create and support Ansible Content for Ansible Automation Platform. The Manager will responsible to lead and drive critical initiative and features for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. You will be responsible for guiding the team to grow and support business growth. In this role you will work with Product management and execute on the strategy for automation. As a Manager, you will be responsible for managing the team, helping in their career and development and take on active role in performance management. What will you do? Lead a global engineering team to design / develop / deliver / support Ansible features and releases, manage resource planning and allocation, and provide team leadership Create an open, diverse, and inclusive team environment Coach and provide feedback to associates, and support their career development and growth Plan sprints with the Engineering team Contribute to defining the strategy, working with product management to prioritize and align feature plans to the business objectives, schedule and communicate these externally Closely collaborate with other engineering delivery teams, product management, design, documentation, sales, support, and marketing teams Drive delivery of features in the product Focus on customer requirements and use cases to guide and supervise the efforts of the team to release product versions and resolve defects, in close coordination with peers Work with cross-functional managers and teams across support, quality assurance, documentation, and other areas to create and deliver a high-quality service Work with the open-source community and maintain a constant feedback loop from the community, and then address the feedback internally What will you bring? Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent 4+ years of significant software development experience Previous experience leading globally distributed engineering teams and managing software development projects as a team lead/ manager is good to have Brings experience of scrum/ agile methodologies Demonstrated ability to apply technology to business problems Experience successfully leading through ambiguity and change Leadership style that is approachable, collaborative, inclusive, respectful Ability to deep-dive into architectural and technical discussions Experience working with customers or in customer situations Experience in working with product management Familiarity with Enterprise Software development The following are considered a plus: Understanding of Ansible or experience with related technologies Team lead/ management experience About Red Hat Red Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
