Description
As an Associate - Manager, Municipal Engineering, your role accountabilities will include: To function as a Group Manager for a small but growing municipal design engineering group and as Project Manager/ Senior Project Manager on civil infrastructure projects with focus on detailed design for municipal infrastructure and municipal transportation facilities Prepare designs and contract specifications for a wide variety of projects Manage staff productivity, performance, billability and utilization Mentor staff and projects budgets and teams Supervise staff daily activities and participate directly in the completion of projects Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus Support design changes during construction and work directly with construction staff Lead and direct business development activities primarily in the Waterloo Region area including preparation of proposals and statement of qualifications Participate in and/or lead project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget Client liaison and business development Bachelor's University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university At least 15+ years of Civil Engineering experience in the consulting services industry including roles with management and business development responsibilities P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) is required Experience with all aspects of preliminary and detailed design of linear infrastructure and municipal roadways Familiarity with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process an asset Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads and Civil3D an asset Familiarity with Southern Ontario and Waterloo Region area market conditions, and more specifically the public and private sector client base in and around the Waterloo Region area Ability and desire to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients Excellent technical understanding and strong verbal and written communication skills are expected Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed in an established teamwork environment Keen analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high-quality work Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, remote communications tools, collaboration tools and applications including SharePoint and the full suite of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft 365
