What to Expect
The Associate Manager, Production Engineering will be responsible for meeting production forecasts, providing hands-on support and direction to the operations team. This role will ensure quality and safety of the BIW and Powder Coating operation while driving continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The successful candidate possesses a solid engineering background, setting up new manufacturing sites and strives to create an environment that is productive, encourages open communication, and fosters a collaborative environment that is exciting and fun.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production engineering and maintenance operations including planning, delivery, cost, yield (FTT), safety, quality, and staffing
- Maintain high standards in product quality, safety, resource utilization, and preventative maintenance of facilities and equipment
- Hire, coach, and develop large cross-functional teams, both salaried and hourly
- Support new product launches, upgrades, and material changes by developing process plans, tracking budgets, and resolving project risks
- Manage engineering changes by assessing risks and creating mitigation plans, including heavy short-term process adjustments
- Oversee all shop floor transactions and documentation of critical feature and checkpoint data with downstream impact awareness
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and 5S initiatives while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing (automotive preferred), with evidence of exceptional ability
- Deep understanding of manufacturing KPIs, JIT systems, and action planning to drive results
- Proven success in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and new product introduction (NPI) teams
- Track record of building and leading motivated, technically strong teams
- Strong knowledge of production systems, processes, product launches, and measurement/inspection techniques
