QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in state and/or local government agency or private sector advocacy.
  • Strong grasp of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with labor policy, franchising, or restaurant-industry issues is a strong plus.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of the organization’s state and local legislative and regulatory agenda, with a focus on QSR-relevant issues.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments affecting the quick serve restaurant industry.
  • Build and maintain relationships both externally and internally with key stakeholders, including state and local lawmakers, state government agencies, industry coalitions, company subject matter experts, outside consultants, and franchisees.
  • Create and routinely update meeting collateral, including franchisee and restaurant locations database.
  • Support franchisee engagement in advocacy efforts, including grassroots activation emails and routine updates on legislation with franchisees and their associations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., legal, sustainability, finance) to evaluate how policy changes impact business operations.
  • Represent the company at industry trade groups and develop extensive relationships with industry peers and other stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local lobbying regulations and maintain accurate activity reports.
