Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

New opportunity within our large Engineering organization for a Test Engineer as part of a new opening position in Connectivity Test Center. This role will be part of a new team based in Bucharest which will work closely with the wider team. This is a newly formed team. Our goal is to build out our Connectivity Test Coordinating team operating from our strategic site in Bucharest providing experienced and dynamic team members to support multiple roles across our portfolio of global projects. This is an extremely exciting time to get involved, to help develop and shape innovative technology and drive change throughout the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Flashing or recovering TCU boards with the required builds, using well defined procedure for various regional variant of the TCU boards.
  • Backup the factory data, so we can restore the TCU target if the software is bad
  • Managing and maintaining test bench to ensure it is always ready for use.
  • Running Automated smoke and sanity tests in the SYS.4 testing area, analyze and present the results to the upper management
  • Running the failed automated tests manually to ensure it is a software failure and not a test automation script error.
  • Reporting failures and maintain a close communication with the team in order to spot the root cause of the software failure.
  • Occasionally, maintaining and/or updating the automated python scripts to ensure the scenario is still running.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • A basic understanding of testing principles (White box, black box, gray box, positive, negative, boundary, etc.).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with processes inside a Linux machine and how to list, start, stop, modify them -> How to interact with them
  • Familiarity with basic electronics system so he/she would be able to troubleshoot hardware configuration issues
  • Basic programming skills and understanding (python is a plus)
  • Familiar with reading and understating Electronic schematics or Electrical System diagrams (high level electronic schematics based on modules)
  • Familiar with Microsoft tolls like Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, etc.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • ISTQB Certification and ASPICE knowledge
  • Knowledge in Python framework like Robot or pychamp
  • Automation / engineering domain script development (hands on) experience with Python
  • Knowledge with repository software’s like Jira, IBM tools
  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM
  • HW experience with configuration different setups
  • Knowledge in ALM is beneficial.
