BASIC FUNCTION: Carries out assignments of a project nature related to manufacturing processes, equipment, design, tooling, fixtures, plant and office layout to improve material flow and handling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Develops and maintains work instructions. 2. Evaluates and recommends additional equipment needed to make existing and new products. 3. Aids in expediting all experimental parts needed for new products. 4. Formulates procedures and carries out specific guidelines needed to make product in a safe and cost-effective manner. 5. Supports new product line development and project labor standards. 6. Recommends and facilitates implementing cost savings measures. 7. Assists in determining layout of plant equipment. 8. Directs and designs tooling and fixture activities and assists in coordinating outside tooling requirements. 9. Analyzes and approves feasibility and reliability of components and system designs and advises on design revision proposals. 10. Modifies and creates CAD layouts for processes and/or plant layout 11. Completes time studies and communicates findings in a meaningful manner 12. Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows safe work practice rules. 2. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required. Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associate's degree in a scientific field or equivalent work-related experience. Experience: One year to three years related work experience. Skills: Machine tool experience – turning, milling, drilling, boring, and Project Management. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Manual Dexterity: Limited manual dexterity required. Physical Effort: Work requires infrequent physical demands. Working Conditions: Normal plant, shop, field or office conditions. From time to time slightly disagreeable features. Hazards: Negligible.
