Description Bloomsbury Academic is seeking an organized, creative, and collaborative Associate Marketing Manager to join our marketing team and launch academic books to the North American market across Education, Psychology, Counseling, and Business & Management. This position is ideal for someone with at least two years of marketing or publishing experience who thrives in a global, cross-functional environment. This role focuses on supporting the marketing efforts of global teams to promote our academic titles. The Associate Marketing Manager will play a critical role in author satisfaction and audience engagement, with a goal of growing brand awareness, reputation, and revenue. Key Responsibilities Set subject strategy and marketing plans for the financial year in conjunction with UK counterparts and stakeholders; monitor progress, spend and return through the year and adapt tactics accordingly Review copy for titles; provide suggestions to strengthen the positioning of titles, author bios, descriptive copy, and metadata Create academic journal review lists for academic titles based on existing lists and author suggestions for titles; communicate with editors at journals to pitch books and report back to authors on efforts and results Respond to author inquiries in a timely manner Write, edit and deploy marketing materials and campaigns including email copy, flyers, social posts, and digital ads Contribute to the development of sales tools to support sales efforts for academic titles Assist with conference planning and promotion, including the creation of digital and print content to support sales and textbook adoption efforts Coordinate with Editorial, Sales, Marketing, and Publicity teams to ensure consistent messaging and campaign alignment Support the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for frontlist and backlist titles across digital and traditional platforms Other tasks, as needed Requirements Bachelor’s degree 2+ years of marketing or publishing experience, ideally in an academic or trade publishing environment Strong writing, editing, and communication skills High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at once Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with platforms such as Biblio, Monday.com, Mailchimp, Salesforce, or similar tools a plus Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences and events Salary Range NY $55,000-$60,000 MD $50,000-$55,000 Location: We are seeking candidates located within the DC, MD, VA region or the NY tri-state area who can work a hybrid schedule from our Greenbelt MD or NYC office.
