Buro Happold has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our hybrid team in New York City!
The Associate Mechanical Engineer will lead the design of mechanical systems and manage a team to deliver high-quality solutions. You will work closely with clients, architects, other Buro Happold Engineers, and/or design team members as part of a dedicated and skilled team. Duties include the production of coordinated detailed design drawings, specifications, written reports, site observation reports, schedules etc. on a variety of projects.

Your key duties

As a key part of the team, your responsibilities will be varied, but likely to include:

• Lead the design and technical specifications of mechanical systems, ensuring quality output.
• Manage project resources, client relationships, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Guide graduates and other junior engineers through their professional development.
• Communicate directly with clients and maintain client relationships.
• Actively contribute ideas and innovative solutions across various projects.
• Ensure practices, policies, strategy, and services represent the client’s best interests and comply with current legislation and building codes.

Your skills and experience

• 8+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior role within MEP for an architectural engineering consultancy.
• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree.
• P.E., professional engineer.
• LEED AP accredited preferred.
• Experience using Revit and computational analysis tools.
• Ideal sector experience in Aviation/Transportation, Cultural Projects, Labs, Commercial, and Higher Education.

What we offer

• Salary range of $105,000 to $150,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
