At Sobi, the work we do every day redefines the standards of care and transform the lives of people living with rare diseases. As a diverse team of entrepreneurial people, we are passionate about our growth journey towards becoming a global leader, making a difference for rare disease patients, moving quickly and always challenging the status quo. We are committed to an inclusive, sustainable and flexible workplace that fosters growth and development. Job Description About the role As Associate Medical Director for sHTG, you are accountable for defining and driving the end-to-end medical strategy for an advanced therapeutic option within rare and severe lipid disorders, including Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS) and its potential extension into Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG). Reporting to the Medical Director NorBalt and working in close partnership with the Medical Science Manager (MSM), you provide overarching medical leadership — setting scientific direction, steering evidence generation, and ensuring successful launch and lifecycle management. This strategic Medical Affairs role requires deep scientific expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to align strategy and execution with European Medical Excellence standards, governance frameworks, and performance KPIs. This position will be based in one of the Nordic countries. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end medical strategy – Lead pre-launch, launch, and lifecycle planning across FCS and sHTG, ensuring scientific coherence and impact. Drive evidence generation & data strategy – Define and evolve the Medical Affairs Plan, overseeing RWE, ISS, NIS, HEOR, and disease-understanding initiatives with scientific rigor and compliance. Lead scientific engagement – Shape KOL strategy, sponsor advisory boards and congress activities, and act as senior medical expert internally and externally. Ensure medical content excellence – Oversee scientific narrative, publications planning, and medical materials with high standards of accuracy and clarity. Strengthen cross-functional partnership – Represent Medical strategically across Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, Clinical Development, and Patient Advocacy teams. Champion Medical Excellence & governance – Implement planning standards, KPI tracking, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive launch readiness & lifecycle expansion – Ensure medical leadership during launch and support future indication development. Qualifications About you You are a scientifically grounded and strategically oriented medical leader who thrives in highly specialized and evolving environments. You combine deep therapeutic insight with structured thinking and strong influencing skills across matrixed teams. You engage confidently with external experts, translate complex science into clear strategy, and ensure excellence in execution without compromising compliance. If you are motivated by shaping medical direction, strengthening evidence generation, and enabling successful launches in rare and complex disease areas — we look forward to hearing from you. Your Background Significant Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Strong scientific background in specialty care, metabolic disorders, or other complex therapeutic areas. Experience with product launch and/or pre-launch planning. Proven success working within matrix organizations alongside Medical Directors and field medical teams. Strategic and analytical thinker with strong scientific communication and storytelling skills. Ability to engage credibly with senior scientific experts and clinical leaders. High integrity and strong commitment to medical governance and compliance standards. Fluent in English and one Nordic language. Willingness to travel (~40%). Here at Sobi we live by our core values: Care, Ambition, Urgency, Ownership and Partnership! By effectively turning our research into ground-breaking treatments, we help make medicine more accessible and open up more possibilities for patients and more opportunities for those caring for them. This has been our approach since day one, but we know we can’t change the world of rare diseases on our own.
