Description
Responsible for the radiation safety for department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine as well as contribute to the Radiation Response Team, Radiation Safety Officer and part of the Radiation Safety Committee. Also responsible for the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA)/ Quality Control (QC) program for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine including radiopharmacy laboratory, radiation safety and waste policies as well as radiation audits and inspections.   Responsibilities Manage the implementation of department’s QA Program including the daily Quality Control checks Work with Biomedical Engineering to oversee the maintenance of all imaging equipment Use various QA test tools to ascertain equipment fault as first line check Assist in the dose management of staff for radiation safety Investigate reports from NEA when required Training of new staff on the safe and proper use of radiation protection devices Conduct courses with lectures on radiation physics and radiation protection for trainee radiologists and other healthcare workers Manage and advise on the annual test reports of the radiation protection apparel to ensure all lead aprons are duly checked Calculate and provide information on the estimated absorbed dose and dose equivalence of patients undergoing radiological examination Conduct investigation as and when required Provide information and explanation to any queries with regards to the risk of radiation Provide wide scientific support in radiation and medical physics Participate in scientific research   Requirements Bachelor of Science (Hons) Healthcare Science (Radiation Physics) or equivalent/post-graduate in Physics or equivalent Sound knowledge of Physics with critical thinking, analytical and good problem solving skills
Responsibilities
