Job Description Summary:
Giant Tiger has merchandise financial plans by class that align with the corporate strategy. Supports planners with compiled historical data and analysis for each class assigned to maximize sales, margins, turns and inventory levels to maximize profits.
Workplace Arrangements:
This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work remotely 5 days a week but will be asked to come onsite to our our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road quarterly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide planners with supporting historical breakdowns as the feed in for building block creation in the class level financial plans.
  • Prepares reporting and category specific analysis to support the planner with the weekly and monthly analysis of sales, profitability, and inventory
  • Populate the monthly Post Mortem reports of actual results for Merchandise Financial Planners
  • Provide straightforward ad hoc sales analysis and reporting weekly to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
  • Enter budgets and forecasts into TM1 as assigned by the Merchandise Financial Planner
  • Support the reconciliation of store plans to ensure alignment with financial and operational targets
  • Populate weekly promotional reporting based on actuals

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post secondary education with a minimum 1-2 years related experience in the retail industry, preferably with a national retailer
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the retail Merchandise Financial Planning process and key performance metrics
  • Possesses effective analytical skills, with the ability to spot trends and suggest actionable solutions
  • Effective communication skills; able to interact with all levels of the organization, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience using TM1 and BI is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detailed oriented and organized
