Job Description Responsibilities: • Use of proper handling procedures and aseptic technique. • Ability to perform microbiological procedures such as, sample dilutions and enrichments, sample plating for quantification, sample transfers, and PCR analysis. • Adhere to appropriate quality measures, which meet or exceed the standards set by ISO 17025, FDA GMPs, and company requirements • Perform analysis and record test data in associated logbooks or bench records • Enter data into a Laboratory Information Management System in a timely and accurate manner. • Perform routine cleaning and quality checks for equipment to ensure compliance with operational specifications • Ability to maintain laboratory environment (cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, consumables inventory, media inventory, etc.) • Assist in media preparation and glassware washing as required • Plan for the assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedule multiple assignments. • Contributes to a cohesive team environment. • Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in life science, or other related degree A four year degree can be supplemented with a combination of experience and an Associate’s degree Authorization to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship Additional Requirements: Ability to learn new techniques and follow written procedures Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adjust workload based upon changing priorities Ability to be flexible with schedule, and work overtime as needed. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift approximately 30 lbs. Preferable skillsets: Experience with PCR analyses and proper pipetting techniques Understanding of aseptic technique in a microbiology laboratory.
