The Boeing Global Services organization is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Reliability & Maintainability Systems Engineer for an exciting opportunity with the C-17 Fleet Reliability & Analysis Team in Warner Robins, GA. The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for air forces of the United States and allied countries. This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be reliable and mission capable.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering or technical field
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems
  • Knowledge in Failure Mode Effects and Criticality analysis (FMECA) and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering or technical field
  • Experience with analyzing field data
  • Experience in SQL, MS Access and databases
  • Knowledge of C-17 aircraft

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will perform reliability & maintainability (R&M) Systems Engineering responsibilities in support of our C-17 internal and external Air Force customers. Typical tasks include but not limited to the following:

  • Review, correct, and analyze field maintenance and failure data
  • Conduct root cause analysis and high driver analyses
  • Perform component and system level reliability analyses for various aircraft systems such as Engine, APU, Fuel, Hydraulic, Avionics, Flight Controls, Structures, etc.
  • Conduct failure analysis and trending analysis and recommend maintenance, operational or process changes to optimize aircraft systems reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Participate in Integrity Program Working Group Meetings, Maintenance Steering Group-3 Meetings, Crisis Management Team Meetings, Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability Meetings, Deficiency Report Review Board Quarterly Meetings,
  • Interface with customers and management at major design reviews to provide reliability findings and recommendations
  • Provide inputs to proposals. Review subcontractor’s proposals for reliability program effectiveness
