Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Equipment & Tool Engineers in North Charleston, SC.
The selected candidates will join one of our specialized teams here at Boeing South Carolina. Additionally, these individuals will align with specific areas within our 787 Equipment & Tool Engineering or Equipment and Reliability Engineering teams, including Asset Engineering, Integration and Systems, Software and Controls, Stress and Structural, or Electrical Systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience using Microsoft Office and office computing systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience in Model Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA and PDM.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Designs, analyzes and modifies aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Researches, develops, evaluates and integrates robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products.
  • Teams with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications.
  • Estimates, plans, manages and executes the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling.
  • Develops and implements testing and acceptance to validate performance.
  • Creates and maintains related documentation for equipment and tooling, develops preventative maintenance plans and trains personnel as needed.
  • Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling.
  • Investigates engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures.
  • Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling.
