Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • To support the partners in the housing and land planning team;
  • To contribute to the growth of the housing and land planning team;
  • To take initiative to resolve project and internal matters that arise;
  • To be responsible for one’s own and junior colleague’s performance, managing and delegating effectively;
  • To keep abreast of market and professional information to identify profitable business opportunities;
  • To work collaboratively with other parts of the business and explore business opportunities; and
  • To nurture existing client relationships to win repeat business independently or as part of a team.

MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reporting to Head of Housing and Land:

  • Providing direct client advice and managing junior staff to prepare advice to clients;
  • Developing planning strategies, preparing programmes and reviewing information;
  • Drafting or reviewing reports, co-ordinating the preparation and submission of planning applications/ appeals/ representations;
  • Identifying new business opportunities, assisting in firm-wide business development and preparing fee proposals;
  • Developing individual client base;
  • Providing planning advice to clients and attending meetings;
  • Assisting in the development and training of staff, including mentoring junior staff;
  • Responsible for maintaining continuing professional development for self and junior colleagues; and
  • Any additional duties as reasonably requested.
