Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Associate Multidiscipline Engineers (Level 2) to join our Airframe Customer Support Engineering team based in Seal Beach, California.
As an Associate Multidiscipline Engineer, you will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting. You will have the opportunities to collaborate with people from all over the world to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems, and to learn how to develop a full structural repair and return an airplane to service in as little as 4 hours.
Boeing Customer Support operates on a 24/7/365 basis. Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customers, as well as to enhance your career through learning experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
  • 1+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and the ability to work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Masters’ degree or higher in accredited course of study in Engineering.
  • Experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders, colleagues and customers in an engineering environment.

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities
  • Performs structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
  • Develops structural math models and performs analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses.
  • Creates strength check notes in support of document analysis.
  • Resolves structural issues to help return airplanes to service.
  • Develops and analyzes repairs to be published in the Structural Repair Manual or Service Bulletins.
  • Performs detailed investigations and analyses to preclude safety issues.
  • Performs damage tolerance evaluations and crack growth analyses to determine airplane inspection requirements.
  • Communicates with External Customers.
