Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Emergency Department Location: New Footscray Hospital Employment Type: Part-Time or Full-Time, Ongoing Salary: ANUM Year 1/2 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging   About the Role: The brand new Footscray Hospital is opening in February 2026, and we are seeking enthusiastic nurses to join our leadership team. The new department features fast track, resus and acute cubicles, as well as a mental health/AOD hub, and associated short stay unit. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) provides clinical leadership, operational support, and supervision to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered emergency care.   Key Responsibilities: Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff in a busy emergency environment Co-ordinate daily operations, staffing and patient flow to ensure efficient, high-quality care Mentor and support staff members, promoting a positive and professional workplace Promote patient safety, quality improvement and adherence to clinical standards Collaberate effectively with multidisciplinary team, patients and families   About You: To be considered for this role, you will require: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Possess relevant post graduate qualification or relevant clinical experience Demonstrate effective management skills and effective written and verbal communication skills Possess highly developed interpersonal skills including conflict resolution strategies Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team   Position Description   About Western Health Western Health is one of the largest healthcare providers in Victoria, caring for a vibrant, diverse and rapidly growing community of one million people in Melbourne’s western suburbs.  With more than 13,000 staff, Western Health delivers 800,000+ occasions of care every year, providing high-quality, person-centred care across every life stage.
