YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 5 years PACU experience.
  • Holding or working towards a tertiary management qualification along with post-graduate qualifications in PACU will be highly desirable.
  • High standard of organisational skills to effectively coordinate the time, human and financial resources of Theatre Recovery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a continuous improvement program.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Joining a friendly team as the Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will report to the Nurse Unit Manager and assist in the day-to-day movements within the PACU team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will facilitate the smooth operation of Theatre Recovery with a can-do attitude and strong customer service focus.
  • Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing, and evaluating care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
  • Provide a support role to all members of the nursing team, acting as a role model and resource person within the clinical area.
  • You will provide leadership and direction to the department to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the unit and hospital.
  • Your positive attitude, ability to prioritise, delegate and adapt, along with your excellent time management skills are all of critical importance for this role.
  • Drive positive improvement in a key portfolio of your interest, reporting to measurable KPI targets.
  • This position holds a key leadership function and will see you report to and work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to achieve organisational goals.
  • Relieve the NUM role during periods of leave.
