OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Associate Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for providing exceptional optical services. This role involves working closely with patients to assess their vision needs, conduct eye examinations, and provide appropriate treatment options. The Associate Optometrist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience in ophthalmology or optical settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pediatrics is a plus for working with younger patients.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye care.
  • Familiarity with medical coding practices is beneficial.
  • Proficient in using ODOFFICE PRO is preferred for efficient patient record management.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Strong sales skills are advantageous for recommending eyewear solutions to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive full eye examinations to evaluate vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
  • Provide patient care by discussing examination results, treatment options, and recommendations for eyewear or contact lenses.
  • Maintain accurate medical records using ODOFFICE PRO.
  • Assist in the management of patient flow and ensure a high level of customer service throughout the patient experience.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care practices, including the importance of regular eye exams.
  • Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices, technologies, and medical terminology relevant to the field.
