The Associate Patient Care Coordinator functions as an integral member of the team and is the first point of contact for all people inquiring about the provider’s practice. The primary role is to organize the practice’s daily activities and paperwork. Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals Schedule: 3 10-hour shifts per week: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday (6:30am-5:30pm) Location: 912 32nd St. Anacortes, WA. 98221 Potential travel for coverage in La Conner, as needed Primary Responsibilities: First point of contact for our patients. Sets the tone for a positive experience Greet customers into practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in person First point of contact for our patients. Sets the tone for a positive experience Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information Perform insurance verification on the date of service Obtain patient signatures for required documents Upload a valid Government issued state ID of patient and patient insurance cards Schedules, appointments and procedures, following standard guidelines Maintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutter Prepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient’s care Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept. Follow established policy and procedures related to the position Participate and contribute to a team-based environment Maintain a team supportive attendance record Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with Optum's efforts in becoming a High-Performance Organization Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines Follow HIPAA regulations Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations Exhibits empathy, courtesy, competence, efficiency and care Uses Multiple computer and phone systems to fulfill patient needs over phone Verifies patient information, while documenting in their Electronic Health Record (EPIC) Advises patients of their responsibilities regarding insurance and referral information Outbound calls for health maintenance Ability to be on time and committed to attending assigned shifts Cleaning, stocking, and supplying recovering patient rooms Performs other duties as assigned What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher) 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience Intermediate level of computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word) Ability to travel to other locations if needed for coverage Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC) Knowledge of Medical terms Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
