The WSP Pavement Engineering team is seeking a Associate Pavement Engineer to be part of this established and experienced team working on exciting large-scale projects. Due to recent successes the team is growing and offers excellent opportunities for the right candidate seeking new and exciting opportunities.
The successful candidate will form part of an existing team to deliver pavement design and maintenance projects for a number of clients both in the UK and overseas. You will assist the engineering team to develop and deliver projects through various stages of design from feasibility / option studies to detailed design and onto construction. You will be responsible for leading a group of engineers for pavement design and maintenance schemes throughout the entire project lifecycle with support of the discipline lead.

Responsibilities
  • You will deliver pavement projects, including investigation reports, design and site supervision.
  • Perform road inspections and report treatment recommendations.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in pavement design, maintenance and construction. projects.
  • Demonstrate competency with developing pavement designs and preparing contract documentation in accordance with the DMRB/MCHW.
  • Carry out line management duties and be responsible for staff utilisation, their development and progress.
  • Lead/direct project teams, providing technical and management support on a day-to- day basis.
  • Support managers with provision of information on staff performance for appraisal purposes.
  • Demonstrate good commercial acumen in the delivery of projects.
  • Control, manage and report on project delivery and performance.
  • Review client work briefs, prepare fee estimates, scope documents and delivery programmes.
  • Deputise for senior management as and when required.
  • Demonstrate a holistic understanding of civil engineering especially drainage and geotechnics.
  • Ensure that delivery is achieved in accordance with the company’s management systems including health and safety, project and risk management.
  • Work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Support with developing and enhancing internal team and external client relationships.
