POSITION SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION

• This position will be a part of a 2.5+ year rotational role with placements in Real-Time Energy Trading, Natural Gas Scheduling, and Analytics
• The primary focus of this position is on short term energy trading, fuel management, and asset optimization. Employees in this role are exposed to a dynamic and challenging work environment and will have the ability to develop, communicate, and execute trading/optimization strategies with targeted emphasis on FPL customer cost reduction.
• Marketing power, developing trade strategies, and optimization opportunities for assets, utilizing market knowledge and expertise
• Fuel management/forecasting, portfolio coordination, scheduling, and dispatch
• Coordinate with Generation Dispatch and Power Delivery to guarantee accuracy of forecasting and transactional prospects
• Understand utility economics to ensure minimum energy supply costs and maximize profits for generation portfolio
• Providing market insight and recommendations to forward power and gas traders
• Operate within risk guidelines and strict adherence to NextEra core values
• Rotational shift assignment utilizing a Dupont 5-week shift pattern (5-person RT Desk securing 24/7/365 coverage)
• Potential to relocate to back-up site during critical events, including extreme weather
