TERMS OF REFERENCE
Title: Associate PPH Officer (SP&C)
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
Duration: 01/05/2025 to 31/12/2025 (with possibility of extension)
Contract Type: UNOPS LICA-9 (NO-B equivalent)
Background and Organizational Context
Based at UN City in Copenhagen, UNHCR’s Private Sector Partnership Service (PSP) supports the Agency’s global collaboration with the private sector through its network of fundraisers and national associations in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Gulf region and Africa. The new Private Sector Engagement Strategy has the vision to deliver PSP into a service capable of generating $2bn in value by 2033.
PSP’s Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) Section, under PSP, develops and strengthens long-term partnerships with corporations, foundations, and private philanthropists (“PPH donors”). The primary role of PPH colleagues is to seek various forms of support from such donors: securing funding for UNHCR programs and projects is considered priority, but the work also includes leveraging the capacities of these relationships beyond funding, to build long-lasting holistic partnerships bringing various forms of support to UNHCR and to persons of concern, such as advocacy, visibility, expertise, innovation, and public engagement.
The private sector engagement strategy (PSE) recognized not only the role of private sector in supporting UNHCR beyond financial contribution, that is by providing long lasting solutions or by engaging in advocacy to address force displacement, but also the need of a whole-of-organization approach in engaging with the private sector. A global and centralized CRM will play a fundamental role in improving internal coordination, streamlining processes, and delivering best in class donors relationships and stewardships.
The incumbent will play a quintessential role in ensuring that Salesforce is fit-for-purpose to achieve a whole-of-organization private sector engagement and to enable the next wave of growth in PPH fundraising within the framework of the PSE strategy. The CRM is used by PPH colleagues to tap into opportunities most likely to generate growth, and to establish, cultivate, steward and retain strategic, multimillion dollar relationships with private sector entities.
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
The Associate PPH Officer (SP&C) will play a central role in coordinating and driving an increased digitalized way of working across PPH. The main focus of the position is the roll-out and adoption of a global and centralized CRM for PPH fundraising activities and thus enhancing the knowledge and information management features around UNCHR’s engagement with the private sector.
Reporting to the Senior PPH Officer (Strategic Planning & Coordination) and supporting the work of the Associate PPH Officer (Digital & Data Analytics), the incumbent will lead the project management of the workstreams on digital tools for fundraising and the adoption of the CRM by users. The Associate PPH Officer (SP&C) is expected to coordinate with a range of stakeholders (HQ users, regional focal points, technical developers and fundraisers) and to bridge business users needs and requirements with the salesforce team. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure that the digital setup feeds into the data analytics stream.
