Minimum Qualifications: University/College Degree in a related field from the US/UK LLB or JD equivalent from a recognized international law school US/UK qualified preferred Experience: Recent graduate or candidates with less than 3 years of experience may be considered who have strong credentials and law-related internship experience Responsibilities Supporting the Senior Privacy Officer in carrying out their day to day duties. This will include assisting with review of contracts and projects to identify and address data privacy issues, supporting on periodic training and awareness relevant to data protection, supporting on drafting policies and procedures that enforce compliance with legislation, supporting in communications with data subjects, supporting on research to understand and keep up to date on any developments and updates in data privacy laws and regulations (including any regulatory reports or guidance, case laws, international principles, frameworks, guidelines and best practices) that impact DET and its affiliated group entities (collectively, DUBAI DET), assisting with conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and being the point of contact for DUBAI DET staff and Data Protection Champions on all data privacy matters. To facilitate data protection compliance by providing day to day support to the Senior Privacy Officer and independently handle tasks and functions assigned. Supporting in delivering training sessions and programme of awareness-raising to deliver data protection compliance and to foster a data privacy culture for all staff and other relevant stakeholders. Supporting the Senior Privacy Officer to identify and evaluate DUBAI DET’s data processing activities. Supporting in maintaining records of processing operations. Support in providing advice and instructions to staff and Data Protection Champions on how to comply with Data Protection policies and procedures including in relation to Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Data Subjects Rights requests etc. Support in monitoring of compliance with data protection related procedures, implementing compliance with privacy governance framework related procedures within DUBAI DET. Support in conducting personal data mapping exercises including development of related templates within data privacy compliance tools implemented at DUBAI DET. Supporting the performance of audits and assisting in determining if alterations are required to procedures or if additional protections to comply with regulations. Supporting the Senior Privacy Officer in writing and updating detailed guidance documents on data protection policies and procedures. Support in reviewing policies, procedures, processes, guidelines and privacy statements to meet requirements under data protection regulations (including GDPR and any data localization or data transfer requirements) Supporting on liaising with other organisations that process data on DUBAI DETs behalf or otherwise are involved in any data sharing with DUBAI DET to ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Keeping up to date on updates and changes in law and provide feedback/ recommendations to Senior Privacy Officer on any potential impact on DUBAI DET to ensure compliance thereto. Pursuing and maintaining relevant qualifications/certifications (CIPP/E, CIPM and CIPT). Preparing and maintaining up to date detailed records, orderly documenting all research, advice, recommendations, correspondences etc. provided in respect any data protection or privacy matters including for the purposes of demonstrating compliance with data protection regulations. Support in drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements that involve the processing of personal data. Assist with implementing data protection policies and developing policies, procedures, processes and guidance, including improving operational efficiencies through the use and implementation of privacy management technology and tools. Assist with investigations and advise on privacy incidents or privacy related complaints and undertake reporting and remedial actions as necessary. Drive implementation of essential elements of the DPIAs, such as the principles of data processing, data subjects’ rights, data protection by design and by default, records of processing activities, security of processing, and notification and communication of personal data breaches. Respond to data subjects to inform them about how their personal data is being used and what measures DUBAI DET has put in place to protect their data. Report any failure to comply with the GDPR or applicable data protection regulations Work with key stakeholders to enhance the process for all privacy impact assessments for greater efficiency and robustness. Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of personal data processing projects to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Responsibilities

The Associate Privacy will support the Senior Privacy Officer in daily tasks, including reviewing contracts for data privacy issues and assisting with training and policy drafting. They will also conduct data protection impact assessments and maintain compliance records.
