A Career with Point72’s Private Investment Valuation team The Point72 Valuation team manages the valuation of all investments across the firm’s extensive hedge fund, private equity, and venture capital portfolios. The team’s investment valuation coverage ranges from exchange traded products to derivatives traded in OTC markets, to venture capital and private equity. The Valuation team provides valuations and P&L for investments for stakeholders across the firm, including Senior Management, portfolio managers/deal teams, Risk Management, and investor reporting. What you’ll do Cover a wide scope of private investment asset classes, including mature PE, early-stage VC, and real estate investments Coordinate with deal teams to lead diverse private equity valuation and venture capital portfolios reviews by building and maintaining valuation models in accordance with ASC 820 Present analysis and fair value recommendations to the Valuation Committees Monitor portfolio company progress and events to quantify impacts on valuations, informing senior management as required Coordinate valuation reviews performed by third-party valuation firms and external auditors Review valuation and P&L reporting for internal performance tracking and investor reporting What’s required 2-5 years of experience in private equity valuation at a valuation advisory, audit, private equity, or venture capital firm Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field Experience analyzing financial statements and valuing companies from seed to IPO using acceptable valuation methods such as market comps, income approach (DCF), and scenario analysis (PWERM) Knowledge of legal agreements, waterfall structures, and capitalization tables and their impact on investment value allocations Familiarity with the use of Black Scholes or other option models Strong excel modeling skills Strong personal ownership, highly analytical, detail-oriented, and a commitment to excellence Ability to multitask and meet deadlines Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively on a team Commitment to the highest ethical standards We take care of our people We invest in our people, their careers, their health, and their well-being. The annual base salary range for this role is $115,000-$145,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package.
