OVERVIEW

We are growing our exciting strategy games studio and are looking for an Associate Producer to work on the games being developed at Absolutely Games. We are keen to see someone who will grow along with the company.

  • Benefits: Flexible start/end times, private medical, life insurance, income protection
  • Desired background: Junior-level Production / QA
  • Location: Guildford, Surrey - on-site
  • Competitive salary, dependent on the candidate’s skills and experience
  • Excellent career development opportunity for someone in the earlier stages of their career

JOB DESCRIPTION

We need talented people to help us build our high-fidelity strategy game on PC and consoles. The role can be thought of as “glue” that helps keep production of the game together. As a big part of a small team of highly creative individuals, you will get to do a lot of different types of work:

  • Coordinate tasks between art, code and design
  • Keep our project management tools up to date
  • Assist with scheduling and load balancing of tasks for other team members
  • Tracking progress, identifying issues and risks early
  • Unblock things that block people, chasing things that need it
  • Keep management and leads up-to-date on what needs attention
  • Organising/coordinating team playtests
  • Playtest our games regularly, always being on top of the latest developments
  • Take an active role in game QA, ensuring content is at the highest quality
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, including scheduling, agendas, actions and follow-ups
  • Ad hoc tasks such as office management, team fun and social media

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent English, both written and spoken
  • Outstanding team working skills
  • Able to inject fun into the workplace and inspire others with positivity
  • Works well under deadlines
  • A “gets things done” attitude
  • Highly organised
  • Attention to detail, with a strong eye for things that look out of place
  • Good with a spreadsheet
  • Significant experience in playing PC and console games, ideally within the strategy genre
  • Able to troubleshoot issues within a game methodically (e.g. patterns and causes of bugs)
  • Must already be fully eligible to work in the UK; we cannot sponsor work permits.
  • Able to work full-time on-site in Guildford
Entry-level candidates will be considered - the criteria are very much about personality and attitude, though having proof of this in similar junior roles may be advantageous. May suit someone with prior QA experience.
