We are seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Student Information System (SIS) Specialist to manage, maintain, and enhance SIS Integrations with Brightspace LMS. This role will focus on SIS Integrations to begin and has a potential to expand to other integrations with Brightspace LMS. This role involves ensuring the integration operates efficiently and provides a seamless experience for D2L customers. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of educational data and processes. This role will closely work with the Product Manager responsible for Integrations and will influence the product enhancements.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION RECOMMENDATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Education or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing or supporting Student Information Systems or similar platforms
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SIS platforms (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Ellucian, or similar).
- Familiarity with system integrations, APIs, and data migration processes.
- Experience with data analytics tools, SQL, or reporting software is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and documentation.
The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Responsibilities:
System Administration:
- Manage, configure, and maintain the SIS Integrations with various SIS vendors (either direct integrations with Brightspace LMS or via middleware platforms) on sandbox environments.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity, accuracy and compliance.
- Document the SIS Integrations.
- Partner with Implementation Consultants to document customer specific SIS configurations.
User Support and Training:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including customers and internal D2L teams (Support, Technical Account Managers, Implementation Consultants, Trainers)
- Develop and deliver training sessions and materials for internal D2L teams (Support, Technical Account Managers, Implementation Consultants, Trainers)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for SIS-related inquiries and troubleshooting.
- Document common user errors.
System Enhancements and Integration:
- Partner with Product Manager on SIS Integration Enhancements
- Identify opportunities to improve system functionality and streamline workflow
- Stay on top of release notes of SIS vendors and middleware providers
- Test and implement system updates, new features, and upgrades.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Works closely with the SIS Product Manager and relays the institutional needs for SIS Integrations.
- Engages with other stakeholders to gather input.
- Work with middleware platforms on support tickets.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives to improve processes and workflows.
