SUMMARY:

An Associate Product Manager at SVI International would be responsible for many aspects of bringing products to market. Guiding products through their respective life cycles, evaluating demand, researching possible new products and adding products to our offering are all part of everyday tasks. Following strategies set forth by Director of Product Management to develop new products. Curate and maintain product data in a format that will be easily shared throughout the organization to facilitate the sale of parts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Thorough understanding of business operations and sales, as well as how products are manufactured
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills – Ability to discuss complex topics with colleagues as well as senior management. Occasional communication directly with customers to answer technical questions as needed.
  • Willingness/ability to roll up sleeves and get stuff done
  • Ability to take a large amount of data and make decisions that could have large impact on the business
  • Prior hands-on experience with data management and/or product management
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to sometimes take the longer road to get to the more complete answer
  • Hands-on experience with metrology and reading blueprints
  • Physical activity can include regular standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and lifting.
  • Strong desire to continuously improve products, systems, sales, marketing, etc

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree in business and/or mechanical engineering
  • Prior experience with automotive lifts – either operating the machinery or fixing the machinery
  • Prior experience reading product test reports and making decisions based on the take-away

Responsibilities
  • Collect information about lifts and what parts fit those lifts
  • Work to obtain samples of OEM parts for development in order of priority set forth by leadership
  • Assign part numbers to new parts and add to ERP system
  • Manage Life Cycle parts from ‘cradle to grave’
  • Competitor benchmarking and development of accurate aftermarket interchanges
  • Manage the process of physically processing returns, determining the reason for return, compiling metrics and sending to Finance, Sales, and Product Management
  • Assess opportunities to solve industry problems through product design using input from Sales team
  • Always work with the customer and end user in mind: How can I make/package/bundle this product to make it easier to purchase or more desirable to purchase?
  • Maintain quality, labeling, and packaging requirements by product type
  • Investigating quality inquiries as needed
