The operations of the social work course and this position are currently located at the Footscray Park campus of the University and the role of the joint appointment is located at the Sunshine campus of Western Health though this position may be relocated to any other existing or future University work location. It is expected that staff travel to various campuses for meetings, teaching classes and other required activities as necessary. About the Role:  The overall purpose of this very exciting position of Associate Professor of Social work position is to innovate and provide leadership in research and the scholarship of teaching and learning.  It comprises two aspects: Sixty percent (0.6EFT) of the role is exclusively within the College of Sport, Health and Engineering in the Allied Health Program in the discipline of social work. Forty percent (0.4EFT) of the role comprises a jointly funded position with Western Health. In this role the incumbent will lead research and scholarly activities and projects between Victoria University and Western Health. Position Key Duties  An example of duties you may perform includes: * Contribute to teaching and learning excellence and innovation through the delivery of face to face teaching in social work programmes; * Initiate, develop and conduct high quality research projects in collaboration with research leaders in the University, Western Health social work staff, university key industry partners and other external organisations; and * Contribute to leadership of the team of social work academics at Victoria University by capacity building, mentoring and enabling others to thrive. Salary:  Academic D $166,999 - $183,978 plus 17% superannuation Employment Type:  Full-time continuing Hours:  36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week Location: The position is located at our Footscray Park Campus. They will be an excellent communicator who collaborates well with others, is able to lead research activities with a range of stakeholders and make a significant contribution to the social work profession. The successful person will be eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers, have completed a PhD with significant track record of research activity in an area relevant to health and social work.
