Description
Department/Unit: Department of Clinical Oncology Closing Date: February 15, 2026 We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Data Scientist with a strong foundation in genomic biostatistics to join our team. This role involves leveraging advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze complex genomic, epigenomic, biomedical and healthcare datasets, and to collaborate with clinicians in generation of research insights and clinically applicable projects. Applicants should have: Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field; with (i) technical skills such as proficiency in R, Python, or SAS for statistical analysis and modelling; (ii) knowledge on cutting edge technologies including but not limited to genomics, single-cell spatial multi-omics, proteomics, metabolomics; (iii) track record of independent research and publications on related topics in international peer-reviewed journals; (iv) at least 5 years or more experience working in an academic institute; (v) demonstrated success in grant application; and (vi) hands-on experience with real-world healthcare and genomic datasets, knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA) and Good Clinical Practice; exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data tools would be preferred. Candidates are expected to (a) design and implement statistical models for clinical, epidemiological, genomics/multi-omics and healthcare data, including performing data cleaning, transformation, and exploratory analysis on large, multi-dimensional datasets; (b) develop predictive/diagnostic models and algorithms to lead and support clinical/translational research; (c) collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinicians, researchers, and engineers; (d) communicate findings through clear visualizations, reports, and presentations; and (e) ensure compliance with regulatory standards and data privacy requirements. Appointments will normally be made on contract basis initially for up to two years, commencing April 2026, with renewal subject to performance and mutual agreement.
