Description

The Associate Project Manager oversees capital building projects, renovations, and mechanical/electrical initiatives at Wexner Medical Center. This role manages all phases of project delivery—including budgeting, scheduling, design, bidding, construction, and closeout—using traditional project delivery methods methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Construction Manager at Risk, as well as small project delivery methods utilizing pre-qualified vendors.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Experience managing small-scale, less complex projects (approx. $200,000) desired.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Target Salary Range: $55,700-$72,700

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate construction and renovation projects, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, and institutional goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including FOD Operations, hospital utilities, epidemiology, safety, compliance, and operations.
  • Review and approve contractor proposals, billing, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and field directives.
  • Ensure proper transition to operations at project completion, including delivery of record drawings and manuals.
  • Prepare cost estimates, scopes of work, and schedules for stakeholder approval.
  • Negotiate consultant fees and manage architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Ohio Revised Code 153, Ohio Administrative Code 153, University and Wexner Medical Center policies and building standards.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide timely and relevant communications.
  • May be required for emergency responses on projects or travel to off-campus sites.
